Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 29, 2026

Last Updated: August 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how LessonPlanner ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our mobile and cross-platform application (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide Directly

  • Teacher Profile Data: When you set up your profile or update settings, we collect your name, the grade levels or classes you teach, and the subjects/skills you specialize in.

  • Lesson Content & Inputs: Topics, lesson titles, custom instructions, pedagogical notes, and scheduled dates/times you enter into the App.

  • Uploaded Files & Images: Photographs taken or images/PDF textbook pages uploaded from your device to provide context for AI lesson plan generation.

B. Automatically Collected Information

  • Device & Usage Details: Basic technical data such as operating system version, device model, and interaction events necessary for app performance, crash reporting, and stability.

  • Purchase & Subscription Data: Transaction identifiers, subscription status (Free vs. Premium), and entitlement details handled through our billing infrastructure. We do not collect or store your payment card numbers or banking information directly.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Lesson Plan Generation: Processing your inputs, text instructions, and uploaded materials through Artificial Intelligence models to create structured lesson plans.

  • Document Export & Organization: Rendering exportable PDF documents based on your selected templates and organizing your lesson history and calendar schedules.

  • Subscription Management: Verifying feature access limits, daily plan quotas, and premium feature availability.

  • App Optimization: Maintaining, debugging, and improving application features and performance.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

To provide core functionality, the App interacts with trusted third-party service providers. These third parties process data strictly in accordance with their respective privacy policies:

  • Google Generative AI (Gemini API): Used to generate and refine pedagogical lesson plans. When you request a lesson plan or upload source images/PDFs, this content is transmitted securely via HTTPS to the Gemini API for analysis. Data sent to the Gemini API is processed to deliver the response and is not used to train models without explicit platform consent.

  • RevenueCat: Used to manage subscription entitlements, verify purchase receipts, and track usage tiers.

  • Google Play Services / App Store: Handles the secure processing of in-app subscriptions and payments.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or uploaded materials to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • Local On-Device Storage: Your generated lesson plans, profile preferences, and local database records are stored locally on your device.

  • Transmission Security: All communications between the App and external services (e.g., AI generation endpoints, subscription validation) are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS).

  • Uploaded Media Handling: Uploaded images and document excerpts are processed ephemerally for the purpose of AI analysis and generating your lesson plan.

5. User Rights and Data Control

You retain full control over your data:

  • Editing and Deleting Plans: You can edit, modify, or permanently delete any lesson plan directly from your library within the App.

  • Profile Management: You can change or delete your name, subjects, and grade levels at any time in the App Settings.

  • Clearing App Data: Uninstalling the App or clearing app data via your device system settings will permanently remove locally stored lesson plans and database records from the device.

6. Children’s Privacy

The App is designed as an instructional tool for teachers, educators, and adult professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe student personal data has been inadvertently submitted, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate measures to delete it.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any modifications will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the App following changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
