Welcome to QuizCreator! This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information and data are collected, used, and shared when you use our mobile and web applications (the "App").

By using QuizCreator, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We build QuizCreator to be as privacy-focused as possible. However, to provide our core features, we must collect and process certain data:

  • User-Provided Content: When you create a quiz using our AI features, we process the text prompts (topics, instructions) and files (such as PDFs) that you upload.

  • Quiz Data: Quizzes you create, including questions, answers, and scores, are saved locally on your device. If you choose to "Share" a quiz, this data is uploaded to our secure cloud database to generate a shareable link.

  • Subscription Information: We do not collect or store your payment details (like credit card numbers). All subscriptions and in-app purchases are handled securely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) and managed via our partner, RevenueCat. We only receive an anonymous user ID and your subscription status.

  • Anonymous Device Identifiers: To manage your app experience without requiring a formal account creation, we may generate an anonymous identifier tied to your device or installation.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

  • To Provide AI Features: Your text prompts and uploaded PDF files are sent securely to our Artificial Intelligence provider (Google Gemini) strictly for the purpose of generating your quiz.

  • To Enable Sharing: To allow your friends or classmates to view and take your quizzes via a shared link.

  • To Manage Subscriptions: To verify your Premium status and unlock unlimited quizzes and features.

  • To Send Notifications: If you grant permission, we send local device notifications to alert you when your background AI quiz generation is complete.

3. Third-Party Services

We utilize trusted third-party services to power QuizCreator. These services have their own Privacy Policies addressing how they use your data:

  • Google Gemini (AI Processing): We use Google's Gemini API to read your prompts and PDF documents to generate quizzes. The data sent to this API is used exclusively for generating your immediate request.

  • Supabase (Database): We use Supabase to securely host quizzes that you explicitly choose to share via a public link.

  • RevenueCat (Purchases): Used to securely track and manage your Premium subscription status across your devices.

  • Google Play Services / Apple App Store: Used to process your payments securely.

4. Data Security and Retention

  • Local Storage: By default, your generated quizzes are stored locally on your device's internal database. If you delete the app, this local data is deleted.

  • Cloud Storage: If you share a quiz, it is uploaded to our cloud database. We retain this shared data to ensure your links remain active.

  • File Uploads: PDF files uploaded for AI generation are processed temporarily. We do not permanently store your uploaded PDF files on our servers after the quiz generation is complete.

5. Your Choices and Rights

  • Revoke Permissions: You can revoke Notification permissions at any time through your device's system settings.

  • Delete Data: You can delete your locally stored quizzes directly within the App. If you need a shared quiz removed from our cloud database, please contact us.

  • Cancel Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel your Premium subscription at any time through your Google Play or Apple App Store account settings.

6. Children's Privacy

QuizCreator does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data without your consent, please contact us so we can take necessary actions to remove that information.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
